I few years back we visited St Truiden airport in Belgium on a day trip. Last Saturday I stumbled upon a book that was titled "The Night Ghost of St. Trond". I glanced through the book and learned it was about a German night fighter pilot named Heinz Schnaufer who had been based at St Truiden during WW II. He is the highest scoring night fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. I added the info in the trip report of the visit to Sint Truiden.
