It's still bitterly cold here (going down to single digits some nights), and the ground is frozen solid under more than a foot of snow.

And yet the robins are back. They were all over the snow this morning, poking their beaks against the frozen top layer, and then shaking their heads and swearing a lot.

Lotsa luck finding twigs to build nests, much less worms, in a foot and a half of snow. :mad2:

Throw out some feed to hold 'em over. It gets warm up there, what, July? :D
 
Yeah, I'll have to do that. I haven't seen them eat bird seed of any kind, but they'll eat fruit and mealworms, I know that much. Cheese, too, oddly enough. I doubt it's particularly good for them, but they do eat it. I can also run over to Tractor Supply and get some suet tomorrow. They eat that.
