The positive side of user fees

The prices of used aircraft will plummet.

As GA pilots throw in the towel in frustration and protest, one might find nice used aircraft at much lower prices.

On the other hand, I predicted the prices of used 172s would fall when Cessna resumed their production and increased the supply of 172s, and I was dead wrong. Demand outpaced supply and drove up the price of crappy old ones.

I thought long and hard about buying a plane with the threat of user fees, and finally decided there will always be good reasons for not buying a plane...
