Haven't read it, but heard him being interviewed about it on NPR this week. He and his brother (sounded like a different one) traveled the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon. Haven't read it and not endorsing it (although it has 4 1/2 stars from 50 Amazon reviewers); just know many of us are fans of Flight of Passage.
Thanks for pointing this out. I looked at the reviewers quoted on Amazon. A couple of them, including the NY Times, compare Buck's book to Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods. That was one of the most memorable books I've read - very funny writing style, funny characters, and vivid descriptions of the adventures of an out-of-shape middle-age guy on the Appalachian Trail. If Buck is half that good, this will be a terrific book.
