When I hear calculations like this, it reinforces for me how a storm/hurricane has unbelievable power..in addition to the winds/convection, which by themselves are plenty enough to smite our tiny conveyances.

Hurricane Harvey - calculated to have picked up from the ocean/gulf, over a hundred BILLION TONS of water, then dumped it on Texas. Trillions of gallons of water.

Yup. Amazing how all of that was just caused by sunlight and a little Coriolis effect, too.

Our cousin and his family are still rebuilding. They’re hoping to be back in their house by Christmas. That’s what their whole family wants for a Christmas present.

So much power in nature and some people believe that an insignificant species called mankind can destroy the whole thing.

"Dr Borsa attempted to get a much broader view by assessing how much the Earth moved in response to the weight of overlying water.

This was detected by a network of high-precision GPS stations, which registered the vertical displacement of the land. "It's like you sitting down on a mattress - it depresses; you stand up and it rebounds. The Earth behaves very similarly, like a rubber block."

Effing amazing.

All caused by chemtrails!

I believe we can make large parts uninhabitable, but in the end the earth will mostly recover to its original state but man may not.

What exactly was the original state? matter and energy in a black hole?

It was a rocking party, you should’a been there. Took the DJ six days without sleep to spin his shizz, until he decided the beats was laid down on the multitrack machine just right. That dude was all cosmic and ****. The seventh day, he chilled out with a flat spliff and admired his bad ass work. Jes sat there admirin’ it all, yo. Never seen anything like it since. That fool was dope.

Exacerbated by reckless land use and yes, climate change, anthropomorphic or no.

In our case the big surprise was getting 21”of rain Monday night after we’d already gotten 23” since the start of the storm 3 day’s earlier. That combined with the storm stalling offshore right at high tide so the bayou down the road from us couldn’t drain was bad. Our area is surrounded by fields but even the Rice Fields couldn’t hold that much water.

The good news is that we finally signed with a contractor Saturday and work starts on the 29th. We might be done on time for Valentine’s Day.
