The Lindbergh Boogie

I was driving down I-75 in southern Georgia today and heard an ad on the radio for the Lindbergh Boogie.

I've never heard of this before. Apparently, Americus, GA is where Charles Lindbergh had his first solo. Sounds like fun fly-in festivities for this weekend!

I was just reading up on Lindbergh on Wikipedia because I had just seen a poster of him in a FBO. Some interesting aspects to his life which I had never realized. Like his two secret families in Germany. He had an affair with a German hat maker beginning who knows when and had children by her throughout the fifties. Not content with that he also slept with her sister resulting in a couple more kids. I guess this was in the news ten years ago but it hadn't registered on my screen.

In early years he made money traveling the barnstormer circuit all over the US as an assistant before achieving his license.
