Today's travel tip:

- If your airline tells you to arrive at the airport two hours before departure, tack on an extra 30 minutes or so. You're infinitely better off sitting at the gate rather than inching forward in the check-in or security line, nervously looking at your watch every minute.

The year is 2006, right?
I'm the slowest pre-flighter in history but I can be well along in 2 1/2 hours. You can be 175 miles closer to the destination by using the time for driving (this 2 1/2 hours does not include the time to drive to the airport.).

aw, heck with it - I don't have time to chase down the codes for columns ... anyway, driving beat commercial by time, but costs considerably less than renting and flying GA ... so this time I drove (besides, 1100 pounds of buffalo will NOT go in a C-172 RG, even if you COULD get them to wear their seat belts)

I can and have beat the door to door time from Denver to Lexington in the Tiger. The airlines are a joke, especially to non-hubs and smaller markets.
