If you ever get the chance to be in Portland, Or. Try to visit The Bomber Restaurant out of Portland a ways on McLaughlin toward Oregon City. It started out to be a gas station in 1947 or there about. Art Lacey flew a B 17 bomber from Arizona to Portland. He had it put above his gas station. Now it is a eating place. The grandson is trying to restore the B17. He has the cockpit finished and is working on the rest of it, which is still high in the air above the old gas station area. Art's daughter Punky, runs the place now as Art has passed away. She has a lot of old pictures on the walls and some other memrolbillia around. We love to go there when we are in the area.
