The amazing levitating helicopter, or what happens when frame rate and rotor speed sync.
I always knew that big fan on top was just for show.....
So all through that flight, zero change in rotor speed. Tight control.
The collective only adjusts the pitch of the blades. Collectively. So do helo rotors act similarly to a constant speed prop? Or would a power be set and the collective setting would determine rotor speed?
Rotor speed is governed at a constant rpm just like a constant speed prop and collective controls throttle and rotor blade angle. That's a Eurocopter which has FADEC managing the whole thing. So do helo rotors act similarly to a constant speed prop? Or would a power be set and the collective setting would determine rotor speed?
