Would there be a place we could go to see what tfrs are planned for the next day or two? I realize we must check them immediately before flight but knowing this or that airport will be unavailable tomorrow, etc would help with planning. Mainly the prez tfr I guess.

Dave, AOPA has a scrolling list of scheduled TFRs (not just Presidential) on their home page, and you can go to:

http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html

and see a map with states with projected TFRs in color, along with a link to the NOTAM text and a plain-language translation (always important for pretenders like me).

Oh yeah- and this: http://tfr.faa.gov/tfr2/list.html

Is it almost election time? Can't possibly be - years to go.

Since most TFR's are put in the system as soon as they are announced, they start showing up days ahead of time in DUATS briefings.

Definetly check the TFR notams prior to flight; however, asking for VFR flight following from your friendly appoach control and/or center can help you stay clear of TFR'S.
