My nominee for Thursday 12 Oct is

The Hudson and East River corridors are governed by VFR [visual flight rules], meaning a pilot cannot fly in the clouds and must navigate by visible landmarks.

It also means that general aviation aircraft cannot fly above 1,100 feet and are not required to be in contact with air traffic control.

So all you guys flying VFR lets keep it low and slow. No VFR above 1100 feet :mad:

No problem for me, I get a nosebleed much above 500 feet anymore......

There's a couple of things wrong with the article. That particular quote was specific to the Hudson route. The reporter most definitely got it wrong. The second was ANY reference to Lidle not taking Cirrus's training thus not having been "certified". What does that really mean? To me, nothing. To Joe Average, it means Lidle wasn't certified to fly the plane.
Again, it's the media MAKING news rather than reporting on the facts. They really should be ashamed of themselves.
