No, I'm not making a euphamism here, get your mind out of the gutter!!! :goofy:

There's 4.5" stoke cranks avaliable for the Lycomings, is there someone who makes long stroke cranks for the Continental??

What is the maximum stroke that will fit in the 550 crankcase??
 
Well, 5 days and 120 views later and still no reply.

I take that as meaning that stroker cranks aren't available for Continentals. :dunno:
 
the 470/520/550 all share a common case. In our recent 520->550 conversion, we had to change the connecting rods out for some which had a machined-out area for the crank counterweight throw to have clearance. (this is one of several differences between the 520 and 550 -- we did it piecemeal as a learning exercise)

My terminology may be off on the above. The difference between the connecting rods, IIRC, was something like 1/4".

It's damn tight in there already. I think the case is containing as many cubes as it can with the 550, which is a stroked and bored 470.
