STOL with Cruise Prop

Saw a C172 yesterday with an STOL mod but it has a cruise prop. I figure someone wanted to fly faster and didn't really need the short takeoff capability any more so changed the prop. But then maybe there is some other logic I can't think of.

Yeah, if you're close enough to read the part number

Probably dinged the climb prop and just replaced it with what he could get cheap.

Maybe he wanted the security of the lower stall speed without giving up all of his cruise speed.

Well if I was going to live at each pole I'd prolly want a cruise prop for the commute...

Maybe the wing cuff from the STOL kit covered up leading edge damage cheaper than fixing it.
