STOL Demo

We had a Twin Otter stop in today. After the pilot telling us what a super STOL machine it was, we sort of did a little campaigning for a demo when he departed. He was right. He was off the ground in just a few plane lengths and I would guess that he was at pattern altitude by mid-field. He was light in that he had full fuel but only 3 people on board but it was still very impressive.

In the 80s , the ceo of Fairchild was flown to and from work each VFR day in a heilo. ( from easton ,md. To Hagerstown ,md. And return. ) the pilot was their long time demo pilot. He made some really dumbfounding take offs after the boss had left the area. Once, on the taxiway. Great!
