I'm reading the stadium TFR for the Sox game tonight, which reads:

"THE RESTRICTIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE DO NOT APPLY TO THOSE AIRCRAFT AUTHORIZED BY AND IN CONTACT WITH ATC FOR OPERATIONAL OR SAFETY OF FLIGHT PURPOSES, "

Does that mean that being on a code and in touch with ATC they can allow you through the TFR at their option?

Yes, ATC can clear you through it if need be.

Yes, but just being in contact with ATC on FF is not permission to enter the TFR like C or D airspace. Per the text of that TFR, aircraft need to be "authorized" by ATC to enter.

What does that mean in the real world?... If you are a on FF and have a reason to need to get through the TFR, you likely will.

I thought the stadium TFR only applied to certain crowd sizes. Certainly Sox games wouldn't qualify. :D

It is seating capacity, not the number of seats occupied. I'm sure that Fenway's capacity is more than enough to qualify.

    A) If you DON'T have a good reason to go through (like the TFR encloses the airport....), it's not likely.

    B) You really don't want to operate there anyway. It's nuts. Banner planes don't fly like normal aircraft.
