I am planning my 1st bahamas flight during christmas and have a question...I have read the Bahamas private pilot guide which seems to thoroughly cover arrival and USA re-entry. I also read the AOPA info online which states that the pilot should have a "restricted radiotelephone operators permit" and the private plane should have a "radio station licence". Neither of these are mentioned in the Bahamas guide or other rescources I have found, how important are these two items??

They're required by law. Whether anyone will check, is the question.

Simple to apply for them on the FCC website. It's just revenue for them.

Start soon if you want them in-hand by Christmas. ;)

Visa card, that is all the Bahamians care about, bring money, everything else is no worries mon! They could care less if you have a pilots license. What you do need is the Customs sticker for the return, $25 a year.
