I have recently installed the spyware program AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (a companion program to GriSoft's AVG Antivirus program). I just ran a scan of this computer first with AdAware SE Personal, which returned 13 data mine cookies. I then used AVG Anti-Spyware and it found 23.

This is just FYI.

I've had similar happen between Adaware and another spy ware software that I can no longer find; Spyware Destroyer. But, it's also true between Norton's registry cleaner and Registry Mechanic. It doesn't appear there is a single piece of software that will always do the job in its entirety.

Data mining cookies aren't so critical depending on what site is collecting the data. It's better to avoid them from sites you don't know at all. I described how to do this in this thread.

At least you're maintaining the computer. Most never have a clue! BTW, if you see any with cia.gov or nsa.gov.... you might want to worry. :goofy:
