Some great old pictures of the former Woodbridge, VA airport

I remember that my instructor took me there to introduce short field take offs and landings in my C152. A few days later, we were practicing touch and goes at the newly opened Dulles Airport. You can do a lot of touch and goes on a 11,000 foot runway.

Same for me, after I started training with the Quantico Flying Club. Quite satisfying, after a few months of looking longingly at the airport from Old Bridge road as I drove to and from my summer construction job in Lake Ridge.

A great website for now closed airfields across the country:

Used it just now to confirm that the W22 entry in my logbook was, in fact, Woodbridge Airport!
