I'm in the process of closing on a 2005 DA40 and was starting to look for an A&P here at KMYF. Ideally I'd like a good mechanic that wouldn't mind allowing the owner to assist on some of the work from time to time. If anyone has any recommendations I'd like to hear from you.

Thank you in advance for the information.

I have used Gibbs on my airplane and have been happy with the work, although they are a bit over-priced IMO.

Most of the Plus One fleet at MYF uses Crown Air, Sorbi, Spiders, or Francisco (Aeromechanix http://www.aeromechanix.com).

Crown air and Gibbs are probably the best quality, but most expensive.

Sorbi and Francisco are probably the cheapest. I have had no dealings with or heard anything about Spiders. Most of the folks who want to do owner-assisted stuff work with Francisco (The website shows them at Ramona, but Francisco does alot of work at MYF).
