What year was the engine overhauled?

The logs show 1987 was the last overhaul. in 1990 number 2 cylinder was replaced. 1993 number 4 cylinder was replaced. Both were replaced with reconditioned cylinders. 1998 cylinder 1 was replaced with new factory cylinder. 2010 number 3 cylinder was replaced with factory new.

The previous years annual compressions were #1-70/80 #2-78/80 #3-79/80 #4-78/80

Nice.... I have been tinkering with the idea of buying a nice 150 to tinker with and keep the Lance for the long hauls. This posting makes it extremely difficult to keep my checkbook closed.

Put your money where your mouth it then.....

Nice C-150. Good luck finding a wise buyer :).

This looks like a great option for someone who is looking to build time or learn to fly.

Nice plane!

I have attached the logbooks for the aircraft to the post. Any questions send me a message.

I can attest to the fact that this is a very nice airplane. I have seen it up close and in person. Stephen is a stand up guy and this would make someone a fine airplane.

About how much would it cost to do a top end on the engine?

So just for the cylinder assemblies you are looking at $3900 dollars, these are brand new factory cylinders. You can probably get overhauled ones for about half of that. Then you need about another $1600 for changing out the valves and springs on those cylinders. $5500 in parts, and then labor is going to vary depending on who you go to to do it. I'd say at least another $1000 in labor. So about $6,000 or half of what a major overhaul is going to cost you. Now that's assuming that everything needs to be replaced. So if you just have to replace the valves and piston heads you are looking at $2200, plus your $1000 in labor is $3300. So I would say you are looking between $3300 and $6000 for a top overhaul. This is just me pulling information offline this morning and is not a quote from a mechanic.
