"DivX 7.2 Now Available" reads the e-mail.

?????????? Do I need it? Do I already have DivX? And what does it do for me besides take up(maybe) space?

You don't NEED it. It's a video coded/player for playing .divx movies.

If you get to where you try to play a movie that won't play, and which requires DIVX 7.2, visit www.divx.com and download it from there. Never click the URL in an email (for banking, downloads, email, nothing!!)... type the URL in and take YOURSELF to the bank, software author, or email site.
