Skydiving plane crashes in Missouri, six dead

Scott Cowan, who owned the business along with his brother, and is a distinguished skydiver, is among the dead as the pilot of the plane.

Ugh. Never good to see crashes like that happen.

Very sad. We had something like that happen in the Raleigh area back in the early 80's. 5 dead I think. One was an electrician who worked at the plant I was an engineer at.

Sucks.

At Carolina Sky Sports back in they day they had a videographer jump with out his parachute. Needless to say he didn't survive.

Here are a few pictures I took of the crash site and of the Otter after it was removed. One of the pictures is of the right side engine cowling, it has a hole in it from the inside out. The NTSB is going to release a preliminary report on Monday. The rumor is that after the right engine went out on take off he was trying to put it down in an open field and clipped a utility pole.
