Simulation mode - Garmin Pilot for Android

I'm trying to help a friend online with running Garmin Pilot, based on a new subscription. There doesn't seem to be an escape from the simulation mode, however (forced quit with relaunch is supposed to work, but it does not). I can't see the interface, so I'm of minimal help.

Is there anybody out there knowledgeable in the ways of Pilot for Android who may have a suggestion?

Probably too late, but...

I just started using garmin pilot for android with x-plane. There really isn't an enter/exit for that. It seems like it just finds the sim on its own and starts using the fake GPS information.

It's actually pretty cool. I have georef approach plates, and can fly practice approaches. I bought the mooney airplane, a yoke and some pedals.

Found the problem: Global Premium subscriptions do not work with Android.
