Signature picture

Try this:

  • Go to your profile
  • Click on "Signature" on the left side of the page
  • Click on the "Image" button above the textbox, by the smiley face
  • Paste the image link you want (https://i.imgur.com/r6O2rTR.jpg for example) into the Image text box and hit "Insert"
  • Save Changes
If you paste the link into the text box without using the Image button it will only leave the text in the field instead of the image.

You can hit Backspace on the image with the X on it to get rid of it to leave just your map in your signature. Hope that helps!

Where is that image from? Is that the only site that you can link a picture from? I tried one from facebook one from http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/ and even one from this site. (https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/attachments/states-map-jpg.62200/) and none of those worked. Do you know why?

Some websites do not allow you to use their images elsewhere (bandwidth issues, etc) so I saved the image to my computer, uploaded it to imgur.com (or any other image hosting website), copied the image link (ends in .jpg or .png or some other image file type) and gave it to you.

Your link "https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/attachments/states-map-jpg.62200/" works just fine when you use the Image insert icon but the image is very large which is most likely why you can't use it as a signature image. I can make it smaller for you if you like?

Thanks for your help. You don't need to make this one smaller, as it has been updated as of about a year ago. It must have been that this image was too big for a signature image. I never uploaded an image to the i.imgur.com site. I guess I just thought that any site that hosted pictures should work. They also apparently need to be the correct size. Can you tell me what the size limitations are? By the way, thanks again for setting me straight!

No idea what the maximum size is but I imagine that there is one! There might be a pixel (resolution) size or a file size (kb or mb) limitation. For profile images it's like 143kb or so I think.

Yeah, but they made the states WAY TOO BIG in my area!;)

Takes me 4 hours east bound just to get out of Texas at 160 knots. Was hoping if Oshkosh doesn't get shot down again like usual this year, I'd have some northern states in that area. Was going to add Utah when I landed Telluride last week, but am planning a Sedona AZ, Grand canyon run (weather permitting) in a few weeks with a jaunt into Utah. Have a multi-ship trip planned whenever the other guys can get coordinated for Laughlin NV. Then some day a run from Florida up the east coast.

Knock out list: Johnson Creek, Gastons, Oshkosh, Moab, Sedona, Payson.

I need to start video on some of these trips. Only ones I have were taken by my son when he was still in junior high and highschool. If you get bored and don't mind non-professional recording, those flights are at tigerhagan on youtube ... the KELP one was FLAT on purpose as my sister-pax hadn't flown in 15 years and I was trying to keep her comfortable (that her recording).

I must have done something wrong and I forgot were I got the map from, but it works.
