SID vs. ODP design criteria

Hello,
I have a quick question about SID and ODPs. Are the way that ODPs obstacle clearance designs the same as that for a SID?

I'm a private pilot with a C-172 in Bridgeport, CT. On weekends, I fly for lunch and to visit with other pilots. For holidays and special occasions, Hubby and I fly cross-country to Oklahoma or California and points between to visit children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Just remember that an ODP (mostly) occurs outside the radar environment and there are some aircraft that cannot make the necessary gradients. The SID's assumptions can be very different and are additionally tailored for traffic work flow.
