The TV is showing that the Ogilvie Transportation Center (Union Pacific Northwestern station) in downtown Chicago is on lockdown due shots fired on the 38th floor.

Three people injured - one man hit in the head, one woman hit in the foot.

The Fire Department rep is now saying the situation is secure. The third may be the shooter. There are reports that the shooter was killed.

It's rush hour where tens of thousands need to go through the station to get home.

Now Da Mare will want a no-train zone throughout the city no doubt.

Just ain't safe, all those people gathering 'round those trains. What if terrorists wanna brew up something nasty?

Turns out this was all about a guy who was mad at some lawyers because he felt they ripped him off on an invention. There were two patent attorneys killed, they were:

Michael McKenna, 58
Allen J. Hoover, 65,
Paul Goodson, 78 (retired school teacher)

Mike McKenna was the main target.

Mike was a bike riding acquaintance of mine and some other friends. This is just too sad, to be killed over something so stupid.:(

Statement to Police by Mayor Daley said:
They weren't using knives to attack me. I can't swear to it but I think they were using airplane propellers!
:goofy:

The shooter was angry about the theft of his invention of....a toilet for long haul trucks. :hairraise:

There are reports that the staff knew who he was and told the security desk that he should not be allowed up because he didn't have an appointment. On his secnd vist the guard escorted him to the floor when he pulled the gun.

And he had a record for assault.
