My cousin hears that I'm a pilot and have an airplane and mentions this to her son (I think he's 19). He asked if he could go up with me and of course I consented to do so.

Then I hear he's going in the Army soon and so my sense of urgency is pressing me to make good on it.

As weather, work, plane scheduling and his shipping out date would happen I don't think I'll be able to do it.

So I decide to illicit the help of others.

I contacted an outfit that I'd flown with before that has a wonderful program for young people and let them know that I'll pay for the intro ride for him. He's supposed to go there today (pending transportation).

I sent him to http://www.hj-aviation.com/. It's unfortunate that they don't do a better job of sharing who they are and the organization. So I'm going to do it for them. I plan to return to this thread and share what I know about the partners after getting their permission (yes its worth bragging about in the realm of aviation, but they don't brag on themselves).

Stay tuned...

The older gentleman in the photo is Mr Reggie Campbell. Mr. Campbell is a former Vietnam helicopter pilot who shared with me his accession into the ranks as an Army Aviator.

Not shown is Mr. Herbert Jones, former Tuskegee Airman.

On the instructors pages is (Ret) USAF COL George London http://www.bethelhousei.org/Board of Directors/george_london.htm. Although he has many, Mr London's most spoken about accomplishment is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=M****IJWytg

HJ Aviaiton is having an open house on June 9 at KVKX from 1-5. Contact them for FRZ entrance if you intend to fly in, or just land at 2W5.
