Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven Fly-In Trip Report

A friend of mine flew up from Huntsville, AL to Sentimental Journey in his PA-11. His name is George Wade - don't know if you met him, but it is a big get together. He has a good time each time he goes...

This was the best fly-in I've been to in a long time.

Man, How did I miss it agian this year???? I really need to make it living in Willamsport and all. Next time you are in the area warn me and I'll buy the dinner.

Bill, I just glanced through your website... very cool! It kinda makes me want to start a blog site like that, except I know myself too well and I know that I'd get lazy and never update it after about the first 2-3 months.

Wow, pretty scenery out there in PA. Thanks for sharing the adventure with us.

For you instrument pilots, I'm curious why the GPS plate for Loch Haven has the special note on it about the IAF ("Arm Approach Mode Prior to the IAF"). I've not seen that on any other GPS approach. Why this one?

I would hypothesize that they needed more stringent minima between the FQM IAF and the FAF than they normally have. If I'm reading it right, it only applies if you're using Williamsport as your IAF, which is further out than normal for an IAF. (It's 15NM out from the top of the "T".)
