Yes, when a soccer game goes to penalties, it's really hard to say which is the better team based on the final result. It's a bit like a recent NFL playoff game that went into overtime (do we already have a thread ranting about the way the NFL does overtime?).
In football, I hate when a game is decided by someone kicking the ball. Yeah, I know how that sounds... love football... hate kicking. I even wish they'd remove it from the game. A high powered passing attack is what I love to see. Should be called aerial ball. In soccer, kicking is pretty much all they do. Boring.
Not much different than extra innings in baseball. Maybe in overtime, defensive players should play offense, and vice versa. Would make it more interesting.
Except in the rare occasion when someone scores 1 point, then a lot of hugging and kissing takes place. Linebackers should receive kickoffs and punts...and the quarterbacks should take the linebackers positions....
