SCAT vs SCEET Tubing

The difference is pennies a foot -- is there a difference in longevity? air flow resistance??

SCEET is lined, SCAT is not. The lining reduces the resistance to flow, but can come loose and plug things.

Thanks, Dan! The SCAT tubing for air induction is looking pretty ratty on my Chief. So it will be replaced with SCAT.
There are places that will form the ends into something more substantial than plain cut SCAT, and for anything critical and/or that must come off now and then this is highly recommended.

Anyone knows the origin of those acronyms. If you google it you get directed to all kinds of adult entertainment websites :yikes:.

Interesting article:

A ducting catalogue:

None of these give any definitions of the terms. I'm beginning to wonder if they ever were acronyms at all. None of the many textbook I have give any details, either.

Now you have me wondering...

FYI - One of the Hombuilder Videos on EAA covers the tubes, relative costs, and uses.
