I 'might' have my ticket by the 12/15 GMU breakfast. it's pushing it, but I'd like to try and make that one. if not, I'm still leaning towards the runway café as my first ticketed XC with passengers.

Not sure how far it is from you (should be <100nm) but Lake City has an AWESOME on field restaurant. Probably one of the best meals I'd had in awhile. No, you won't get to impress your pax with radio skills flying in (untowered) but the food will more than make up for that. I got the chicken with bacon cheese and mashed potatoes. Just a suggestion for you and your daring passengers!
Also maybe I'll look into going up for the GMU breakfast club since we're on the topic. Not too bad of a trip.
