Safari; How do I change this?

Suddenly safari on my IPad decided I needed a change. I don’t like it.
How can I change the purple background? The “glitter” is distracting.

settings- wall paper. Or select a photo, tap on the up arrow, and save is at wallpaper.

It's the background in Safari, not on the Ipad itself.

I followed the directions to change it, but it doesn't stay changed.

If I open Safari on an iDevice it opens the last page I was on. I can’t recall seeing a background.
