Passell's career including working for Sporty's Pilot Shop, and he later served as a designated examiner at Clermont County Airport near Cincinnati. He was one of the original instructors for an AOPA three-day ground school, working with Sporty's founder Hal Shevers in that capacity for many years. I have Al's signature in my logbook twice. He was my DE for both the Private and the Instrument checkrides.

Al was a good guy and will be remembered.

I had dinner last week with my old CFI in Cincinnati and with Missa (who was also visiting the area). I asked Tom about Al.... Tom said he was flying as much as he could....
