I've flown into hemer from AJO since the 90s. I have to be honest, I never looked at the glider runway and thought "that looks like it's good enough shape to try it." I honestly thought it was abandoned until this thread. Let us know if you do.

Closed indefinitely 22 that is. When i was there Friday morning for breakfast though, I did notice some glider trailers around that i never saw before. Maybe a resurgence in glider traffic?

Ware Is in Alabama. 01AL just east of Clanton AL. Private airport but I landed in a Maule there a few times.
Dauphin Is airport, south of Mobile AL. Last I heard Navy flying drones there.
