I'm waiting for the updated list but here's what I have so far: PAID: Bill RDUPilot Masloki crash7 zayerpaul cowman eman 6er Not paid AFAIK but goes every year: x3skier edfred Not paid but I'm pretty sure are going: timmyers kaiser Listed as paid yet doesn't have a place to stay (?): katamarino Then there's the other people. If I'm wrong, please lemme know. So imma start a private conversation with everyone BOOKED so we can organize who's bringing what. I'm thinking of using the current sign up xls to keep track of stuff. I'm thinking of getting rid of the 'pets' column and the 'probability' column and adding a 'stuff' column for tracking. The only issue we ran into last year was there are a max # of people that can join a group conversation on PoA.
Katamarino and Mrs Kat plan to split a cabin with me and Mrs Crash. Since I’m driving, if anything needs brought that isn’t very plane friendly, just let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m booked in a lodge room. BTW- what’s the situation relative to tie downs? Is there parking off the apron for tieing down?
I looked at the satellite image and approximate 15 to 20 tie-down locations on the apron. From memory most have tie down ropes but it may be wise to bring your own as well. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk
There was a lunch fly-in while we were there last year, and many of them parked on the grass, so that's an option too if you have the appropriate tie down gear.
I went back and looked at my pictures....I used my own ropes, but I see there are ropes on the ground in the next spot over. There was plenty of space last year, but it looks like there might be a few more this year.
I don't remember if I tied down or not lol. I just remember those weird wooden chock thingies they had.
If an emergency, might borrow rope/chain from the prison cabin. Would advise stating specific purpose. "I'd like some chains please" may certainly get you tied down.
I am seeing 17 or 18 planes assuming Dave is flying from GA, at least from the spreadsheet, which I finally pinned so I didn't have to keep looking for the dam dam fly-in spread sheet.
Yeah me too. I'm thinking I'll head down and fly with @RDUPilot . He needs someone to sign off a commercial x-country anyway. I can give dual while mixing cocktails in the back of his Bonanza, right???
I’m planing on coming down for the day on Saturday, possibly Friday if the wife and her flight’s schedule jive. I found this fly in is the same weekend, might be a fly out destination.
Well crap, I have the time off but may not have anyone to take care of my daughter that weekend. The plan was to have the in-laws in town to handle it, but that might not be possible. I'll try and come up with a plan B, but this might force me to stick around here.
Bummer dude. Understandable, but a bummer. What happened to ‘empowering women’, can’t she take care of herself?
Heh! I could always just bring her, but that'd involve me staying well behaved, and what the hell is the point of doing that?
Well, unless something goes south, I'm not going to have a plane when this Rough River deal goes down. Since my plane was for sale, and I didn't know if I could get there, I haven't made any arrangements to get there or sleep there. Question 1: Is anybody coming through south central Oklahoma on their way? Question 2: Do you have room for a 6'3" 290 lb. redneck?
I was amazed at the variety of aircraft doing intercept these days, B52, even. I think I saw Harry Potter fly by on a broom at one point, but that could have been a shroom induced vision. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk
So what you are saying, is if we delay your sale and give you a tent, you’ll be there? I am spamming your ad that you are at 51 hours into an oil change and there is an oil and filter shortage. Deal can’t close until May. Your welcome!
I will handle the flying part. Can't help with the sleeping part. You can sleep in the Comanche if ya want.
No, we're talking the Comanche dude from Texas, you know, the one who actually knows how to fly a Comanche.
Back in the day, 2012ish, we would conduct intercepts of low slow flyers with MH-60's. Once we intercepted one in good ol Hawkeye. Good times.
This will be my first time coming to Rough River fly-in. Glad I found the information in the 11th hour (so to speak) instead of a day late and a dollar short!!
