I've been out of town and just getting through some old emails. These pics from a friend, not sure if they've been posted before. Amazing sequence. No details or location.

i think that was from last year at an airshow in england. i believe that guy is (was?) the UK National Aerobatic champ. The were trying to do a non aerobatic demo flight under low ceilings and strong winds and he stall/spun on the turn to final. lucky he was low enough that he wasn't too injured.

Anyone knows how he did ? Sure looks like a pretty hard hit.

So much for the 'composites explode' theory that gets bandied around a lot.

Pic 3 looks like a good boom to me, thing is every little scrap of flying glass is taking energy with it, in the same way every bend in a metal airframe took energy away from the meat bag(s) inside the plane.
