Returns To Top of Page on Back-Ups

As I scan threads, I go to the next one then hit a single key on my keyboard to back up to the list if I don't respond within the thread. It used to back up to the same scrolled position on the previous page. Now, it still backs up but at the top of the page rather than the same position as before. Can this be changed back?
