My son started his PPL training here at KPWK. We are very happy with the training here, but he is a student at U of Missouri in Columbia. He will be going back to school mid August and I want him to continue his training. Any recommendations for a good flight school? He has been training in a 172P.

Thanks

But I'm not certain that is a true flight school, merely a flight service that also provides flight training. The nearest flight school (I think) is in Metro St. Louis on the East Side (IL) at Parks College, which is actually part of St. Louis University.

In addition to Columbia, there are CFIs at smaller airports who do individual training.

I have completed my CPL, now i want to go for Airbus ratings, any guide on which school will be best for it.

interesting way to phrase it. Do you want to learn to land the airbus or just to fly it without landing?

I THINK he's just talking about training but...

If not...

Central Missouri State in Warrensburg has an aviation dept with a good reputation.

And it's a LOT closer to Columbia than E STL is.

you don't need a "flight school", and you con't have to drive across the state to warrensburg. There are plenty of rental planes and CFI's at columbia, or a short drive away in jefferson city, Boonville, Fulton, and Mexico. I don't know anyone at boonville but based on the amount of radio chatter on nice days I'd suggest you stop by and take a look. Info doesn't come from web pages, it comes from visiting the airports and talking to real live people.

Jeff City is about an hour drive straight south from Columbia. It's a pretty quiet airport - it even has a tower because the Governor needs it.

We are checking out Jeff City and Mexico. Jeff City is about 1/2 hour drive from Mizzou.

Yeah, you're right. Jeff City is more like 25-30 min from Columbia. It's an easy drive on that highway.

The tower is much more accommodating to flight training than Columbia.

Thanks all. We eventually selected Jefferson City Air Services.
