Hello,
Anyone know the real world, flight-planning, unvarnished TAS for a '73 Cessna 210L? Non-turbo, IO-520, 440 hrs smoh, 3 blade McCauley prop.
Thanks alot,
dan

I used to fly a 210L. I'd flight plan for 160 KTAS. Might have gotten a couple kts more.

Thanks alot. I appreciate the response.

I plan for 160 also. I think that easily real world. Mine's turbo tho, so higher is faster.

Yes 162 is definitely attainable at best with the original McCauley but if you cruise at 145 to 150 knots you will burn a lot less fuel. The newer Hartzell and new McCauley a couple of knots slower, the requirement for less prop noise made them modify the tip design and not as efficient in cruise. I flew mine last night at 2,500rpm and 25” at 2,500 msl and was cruising at 156 knots.

The 210s I used to fly we planned TAS at 155. I don't remember what we planned on for GPH.
