Public ADSB information "PRIVATE"

Every once in a while on ForeFlight traffic, I see a flight labeled as PRIVATE with only type, heading, altitude and speed. No N number, origination or destination. When I try to find it on Flightaware, it doesn't seem to be there.

Can we have our flights labeled as PRIVATE?

Flight Aware has a process to request not publishing flight data (lots of charter companies do this). Not sure if that translates to all ADSB traffic data...
 
Or it could be UAT planes with anonymous mode enabled
 
You can request it from the FAA. All users of FAA traffic data (Flightaware, FlightRadar24, etc) are obligated to comply.

The question was about ForeFlight. There is no way to have a plane labeled as Private in flight except through anonymous mode. On the websites, you can request that it not show, but air-to-air traffic can’t.

Right, I made the assumption that OP's traffic source was web traffic, not an actual ADS-B In receiver.

If it is in fact internet traffic, the FAA link I posted will accomplish exactly what he saw.

The fact that his example is was at 43000ft should be enough to tell you that it's not a UAT anonymous aircraft.

It appears the OP is using ForeFlight on the ground looking at internet based traffic rather than a feed from an ADS-B in receiver. Notice the source of the traffic in the image is Flightaware, which applies data blocking.

That is true. I saw the PRIVATE label on Foreflight traffic, but didn't see the flight at all on FlightAware.
Wasn't aware of adsbexchange website.

The image the OP posted above shows the source of the traffic as Flightaware, so it must be Foreflight internet traffic, rather than traffic sourced from an ADS-B in receiver.
