Prog Charts - inop since 4/15/24

In case helpful for weather planning, FYI:

Prog Charts on Aviation Weather Center remain unreliable (and mostly outdated) due to a NWS systems outage.
- Current shows fronts/pressure systems valid: Mon Apr 15 (three days ago)
- 6 and 12 hour forecasts, now corrected
- 18 hour, 72 hr and longer-term forecasts: all wrong/outdated
Although AWC website remains silent, the problem has been ongoing since Monday, Apr 15.

NWS/AWC email reply (redacted) follows:
ETA for fix remains ... unknown.
Affected: Prog Charts on AWC, aopa.weather.org/weather, etc.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for reaching out. Prog charts are temporarily out of service due to an NWS data outage.
We are starting to get data for the near term but the longer range charts remain unavailable.
There is no estimated return to service yet.

As a workaround, short and long-term forecast charts on 'Weather Prediction Center' appear accurate:

fyi: Problem started on Monday morning, at start of a trip.
Assumed it was a temp glitch, but 3 days later ...

Absent public announcement or notification, hope this may be useful.
Exercise caution and check 'Valid: dates/times' ... carefully.

I've noticed they were down, but just chalked it up to the new site being buggy. Thanks for the workaround. My long term planning this time of year revolves more around farming than flying, but I find the prog charts almost more useful for that anyway.
