A friend sent me a powerpoint slide show of avation pictures. Does it work here if I posted them here? or does it have to be individual pictures?

You can post the link to the slideshow and we can view it. But I've never gotten any of the scripting here to work for more active content such as embedded slide shows or video...someone must have >forgotten< to enable that feature ;)

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="288" height="192" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fr.t.alaskaflyer%2Falbumid%2F5101437025944791537%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss%26authkey%3DwU1BvHMALyY" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>

Sigh... ;)

FYI...Richard, I tried doing a complete cut and paste and received an error message.

It was sent to me as an attachment. Its called Aviation.pps

Email it to me and I will post it for you. It won't be embedded in the post but folks can click on a link.

Or you can open a free Google Docs account, upload the .pps, and then link to it in your post.

Powerpoint files (.ppt, .pps, etc.) are not permitted file types for upload - or at least they are not on the screen that opens when you click "manage attachments". In addition, powerpoint files can be huge. Best to post it to a website that allows this, then post a link here. Someone please reply with the name(s) of site(s) that allow free uploads with links...

Are Flash files allowed? I can convert it to a Flash... I think...

PowerPoint files are not flash and won't play in flash players. There are some converters that convert PP to flash.

Yes, I know that. I have Flash Professional (I don't use it very often, but I do have it), and I'm pretty sure the included FlashPaper app will do the conversion.
