I just looked at the 500mb constant pressure chart for what Scott talks about in his Wx seminar about the lower right quadrant of a big trough being a bad place, sure enough it is!

could be bogus, but right now there is a 690 in south Texas.

i'm guessing there is a fair amount of dancing in the streets going on in Texas? first significant rain since...last year about this time?

Lightning hit so close to my house last night I thought it was the house... And then I smelled smoke! Needless to say I was up and outside looking.... Then the rain started -big grin- and I just listened to it and went to sleep, beautiful day today and smells so good. I imagine though that the airshow folks in midland aren't too happy
