Well as it goes, work happened to give me a Kestrel 4000 weather station. This little sucker does pretty much everything: temp, dewpoint, wind, altimeter, baro pressure, wet bulb, relative humidity, density altitude.................... and is as big as a small handheld GPS. I never thought of having one in my flight bag, but really, now that I have one, its a nice addition. I figure that for say grass strips during the summer months, it could really help with go/no-go decisions about weight and so forth. Anyone have a portable weather station that they use on a regular basis for flying?

PS I really recomend these units. They have many user replacable parts such as the impeller for the fan and such, and the factory will sell many of the parts very cheap, which makes them good for those that are clumbsy.
