Plane down in Georgia

I can only get the link to show the one picture. It looks like hard IMC to me. Someone doing some scud running?

VERY hard IMC. This guy had just taken off and was heading to South Carolina. No way in hell he would attempt that scud running. He was on an IFR plan and there is earlier "speculation" he had an engine problem.

Today has been mist, light rain, and few hundred foot ceilings all day. Nasty. That's what happens this time of year with these easterly wedges.

I doubt it was scud running. The Flightaware track shows the usual NW IFR route out of here (NOONE-NELLO...) and filed for 10,000. Sad for all involved.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane took off from Gwinnett County Airport and was headed to Sparta, Tenn. It was registered to Doctors' Aircraft Services and KM Aviation of Sandy Springs, Ga.
