Plane crash in NC

What intrigue me was the plane, a Superior T6, experimental..... What's that???

Finally tracked it down and what a cool looking plane! Guy took a T6 and made a heck of a modification. Too bad it's gone.

Lots of War Birds are registered as Experimental Exhibition.

It just requires a program letter suggesting where the aircraft might be flown in the next 12 months and is easier from a regulatory standpoint.

I am glad he is OK.

The FAA has it as a Shell Super (Not superior) T-6. Shell was the owner and (re)builder's name. What's super is that the Twin Wasp he has on there has three times the horsepower of the original R-1340 it had.

Looks like another racing aircraft comes to a tragic end,glad the pilot made it out.
