I was wondering what this /RM AWC-WEB remark on some PIREPs meant. A little digging / Googling reveals that it means the PIREP was directly entered into the FAA's systems via the Aviation Weather Center's PIREP reporting page.

Some carriers (Southwest, for example) and dispatchers have an access code and submit PIREPS directly via an https secure connection. This allows a flight crew to submit a PIREP through their FMS or over company radio, and get it into the FAA's report stream.

A lot of PIREPS get entered this way; here are the PIREPs over the last 30 days for CONUS entered via this page:

I want a code! Would be nice to fill one out on my phone real quick before putting the plane back in the hangar, rather than calling up. But, I can see the importance of certain levels of filtering, more for non-carriers.
