Plane down in Bowie, MD, snarls return-home traffic on Route 50

Second crash in 9 days at Freeway airport. This one landed in the trees along side US 50, which is the major route from DC to Ocean City, MD. It has (needless to say) caused huge backups & much media coverage. Not exactly best publicity for GA today:

No injuries in last weekend's crash, 2 medevac patients today.

Sigh.

pictures from the posted link look like a Mooney.

Prayers for a speedy recovery of the occupants.

Looks like a mooney to me also, flight looks like he landed straight ahead when he couldn't get altitude.didnt they have an incident last week also?

Was going off of what the reporter said, though he said "Cessna - no Arrow!" :)

Hope all survived!

Okay, maybe too soon for humor, but it you land on a toll road do you have to pay? :dunno:

Don't answer that, I'm ignorant.

It looked off the road to me!

Look like the tail number is N7895 FAA data base says its assigned to a Sai Marchetti in Mass. There must be a missing digit or number in the footage because it sure looks like a money.

There's an N78951 M20C registered to a guy in DC.

Hot day, heavy load, short field.

Hope all recover.
