Do you guys buy this? Is it possible to get a few million in coverage to cover aviation risks? How much does it cost? This is specifically for an umbrella type policy, not for airframe damage.

Both SAFE and NAFI offer professional liability insurance plans for instructors. If you have any assets, professional liability is a must. All the LLCs and waivers of subrogation in the world won't give you the protection a good insurance policy will.

true to a point. most polices are for a million dollars. when was the last time you saw a jury give only a million. you can never get enough coverage to cover all your assets. sometimes a million only makes you a good target to the dreggs that chase ambulances.

You can get multi-millions of liability coverage on your airplane ops, but it will be 5 figures and only if you"qualify".

To start from scratch, you're talking about just wanting liability coverage for aviation. Not an umbrella policy that includes aviation?

Most personal liability "umbrella" policies exclude aviation. I know mine does.
