My friend is an air traffic controller. There was a bird strike at her airport one day so she had to change the ATIS. Well the town was building a hospital on the approach and departure end of one of the runway. The cranes they were using were 200 feet. She went ahead and put out the ATIS and another ATC'r said "Uh you should listen to your ATIS you just put out...."Caution bird strike in the area, 200 foot cranes."

last week a drunk driver in an SUV took out (as in, demolished) a row house in DC. it was a really pretty old building, totally remodeled inside, a married couple who were both architects owned it.
